Volunteer in beautiful Luang Prabang region in Laos, teaching young Buddhist monks and local lay students to improve their English and help them to develop their employability for the future. Living in this UNESCO World Heritage town which is rich in culture, you will be able to learn about Buddhist life.
You can volunteer here throughout the year for 2 – 24 weeks.
What’s it all about?
You will work in temples and an English centre during the days, and hold evening classes depending on student requirements. You will receive training beforehand to help prepare yourself for this responsible but amazing opportunity, then organise and run 2-3 hours of lessons each day. There are many helpful resources, materials, curriculum information and story books left by past volunteers to aid your teaching.
How much does it cost?
2 weeks costs £1345
Each additional week costs £130 per week.
Accommodation is more basic than what you’re used to in a shared guest house, however there is running hot and cold water showers, western style toilets and the guesthouse is clean and comfortable. You receive 3 meals a day at the guesthouse, comprised of both Western and local cuisine.
