Become a volunteer teacher in Luang Prabang, the stunning UNESCO World Heritage site, where you will be helping teach English to local students and novice monks and help them to develop their employability for the future.
What will I do?
Working alongside other volunteers, you will teach classes in local schools, an English centre and possibly in temple schools too. You will help to support your student’s education, team-teaching classes to work on conversational skills, writing and grammar.
Expect to teach 2-3 hours per day teaching at least one class with the novice monks and 1-2 other classes with local students. Students are usually aged 10+. There may be an opportunity to get involved in evening classes.
Whilst this project does not provide a formal TEFL qualification, you will receive some TEFL training and lesson planning support in Laos.
Food and accommodation
Accommodation is provided throughout your stay in a shared volunteer guesthouse in Luang Prabang.
Three authentic Lao meals are provided each day whilst at the guesthouse. Meals are generally local dishes and dietary needs can be catered for.
You can volunteer on this project throughout the year for 2 – 12 weeks.
How much does it cost?
2 weeks costs £1345
