Work with elephants in a beautiful lakeside setting in Laos. These elephants have been rescued from the cruel logging industry, where they have had to spend their lives doing backbreaking work. The aim of the centre is to rehabilitate the elephants to the wild where possible, and give the others a life as close to the wild.
What's it all about?
The centre is currently home to over 20 elephants, all rescued from the logging industry. Volunteers help to care for the elephants each day, in a variety of roles:
- creating enrichments for the elephants - monitoring elephant behaviour - doing basic building and maintenance work around the centre - learning about the problems facing elephants in Laos, and how to address them
You can volunteer here for 1 - 2 weeks throughout the year.
