Volunteer at a wolf sanctuary in Portugal, helping to provide food and care to rescued wolves. These wolves have all been removed from poorly run zoos, and are now able to live a life as close to the wild as possible.
What’s it all about?
You will be living within the grounds of the sanctuary, and volunteering 5 days per week. Tasks include:
– food preparation
– removing alien vegetation
– planting native shrubbery
– ensuring the wolves have enough water
You can volunteer here for 2 – 4 weeks between March and November.
Accommodation and food
You will be sharing a volunteer house with up to 5 other people. The rooms are shared. The kitchen is self catering and there is a living-dining room. The terrace overlooks the wolf sanctuary.
In your free time you can head to the beach, visit local attractions such as medieval castles and vineyards, and head further afield to explore the cities of Lisbon and Porto.
How much does it cost?
2 weeks costs £1248. 4 weeks costs £1746.
Volunteers must be 18+ to participate. The summer is very popular, so you are encouraged to book early to guarantee your space.
