Oyster Worldwide Gold residential – Women’s Empowerment Volunteering in Laos

Take part in our women’s empowerment programme in Laos, giving education and learning to local women. You will be teaching English to increase disadvantaged women’s access to employment and boost their confidence and independence. All the while you will live in a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site nestled between the Mekong River and the mountains.

When?
You can volunteer here throughout the year for 4 – 12 weeks.

What’s it all about?
Volunteers will be teaching women of a range of ages and abilities with a primary role of conversational English, focusing on how English can help them in a practical setting and involving IT, health and life skills. You will hold up to 4-hour lessons in local schools and have support and planning from previous volunteers to have a smooth and purposeful experience. There will be resources, materials and story books passed on for you to utilise.

How much does it cost?
4 weeks costs £1445
Additional weeks cost £155 per week.

Accommodation is more basic than what you’re used to in a shared guest house, however there is running hot and cold water showers, western style toilets and the guesthouse is clean and comfortable. You receive 3 meals a day at the guesthouse, comprised of both Western and local cuisine.
