Head to Pokhara, a stunning lakeside city in Nepal and the start of many of the world’s most famous treks. Volunteer on our women’s empowerment programme, getting involved in worthwhile projects chosen specifically to match the needs of the local women you will be working with. Help to tutor women who live on rural farms and have limited access to education and take part in amazing workshops that provide information about health, IT, business and much more.
You can volunteer here throughout the year for 2– 12 weeks.
What’s it all about?
You will be teaching women conversational English, focusing on how English can help them in a practical setting. You will be teaching for 3-4 hours and you will get to take part in team teaching workshops in Pokhara. You will have a teaching mentor, training and regular meet ups with your volunteer coordinator to help you get the most out of the experience.
How much does it cost?
2 weeks costs £1085
Additional weeks cost £155 per week.
Accommodation is provided throughout your project. You will live in shared accommodation with other volunteers and the volunteer coordinator. There can be up to 12 people in a house. On the top floor of the house lives the host family, who will cook traditional Nepali food each day. The house is comfortable, social and has plenty of communal areas.
