Peak Park Conservation Residentials

Spend your Gold Residential exploring the Wonderful Peak District National Park, completing the John Muir Award at the same time.

Take part in vital conservation work, learn about the environment around you and connect with like-minded young people, all in the beautiful countryside of Britain’s First National Park.

The Peak District is a rich and diverse area where nature and communities live side by side. The conservation work you’ll undertake will be helping to conserve this important landscape.

Conservation projects may include:

  • Tree Planting. Walling & Fencing
  • Stile, step and footpath construction
  • Pond clearance and erosion control
  • Invasive species control

You will also get the chance to go walking with a Park Ranger and Learn about the Wildlife and habitats of the Peak District.

The Peak Park Conservation Volunteers are a DofE Approved Activity Provider (AAP) and the practical conservation projects are designed to meet the requirements of the Gold D of E, and have been doing so for 20 years.

You will stay at one of our volunteer centres, either near Leek in Staffordshire or Grindleford, in the Hope Valley in Derbyshire.

We provide food, accommodation and use of tools & equipment for £215. Projects are available from April to October for people aged 18+

The projects this summer have been very popular and are now full.  We do however still have a project in the autumn half term and we do work on a first-come first-served basis.
