Possible volunteering opportunity with The Essex Wildlife Trust

Are you great with people? The Essex Wildlife Trust have 11 centres across Essex which are our main point of contact with the general public; we have over half a million visitors a year!

We are seeking centre volunteers to welcome people to the centres, let them know about local wildlife and habitats and help with the retail and café outlets as required.

Absolutely no wildlife knowledge is required but enthusiasm is essential, all the time contributed in the centres will help fund our on the ground conservation work. Volunteers receive training; which may include food hygiene, wildlife courses or first aid (depending on the role), logo uniform, travel expenses and the chance to work with a friendly and professional team of volunteers and staff.

Overview:

Welcoming people to the visitor centre Assisting in the café; taking orders, preparing food, serving food and clearing tables Assisting in the retail units when needed, helping restock, tidying and selling good Possibly working on the tills, both in retail and the café.

Available at locations across Essex: Colchester, Havering, Leigh on Sea, Grays, Billericay, Romford, Basildon, Walton on the Naze, Brentwood and Thurrock.
