Learn to sail, learn about the marine environment and microplastics, learn about yourself… Gain confidence and meet new and amazing friends with whom you’ll create memories to last a lifetime!
Together with your crew, you will be exploring the UK South Coast and Solent with all its beautiful islands and fishing ports, its bays and smugglers’ coves, and abundance of marine wildlife.
Although the Sail Camp programme’s main emphasis is on everything above and below the water, you and your crew will also get the opportunity to go exploring ashore. Hike to places of outstanding beauty, explore creeks and rivers by canoe or paddleboard, learn about micro-plastic and its impact on marine wildlife while helping to protect the environment with a beach clean-up, watch dolphins play in the bow wave of your boat, or have a beach BBQ while watching the sunset.
You will live on a yacht with up to 8 other adventurers of the same age, as well as a professional Skipper and Mate. You will be working as a team to sail your boat towards your next adventure, and before you know it, you will all be friends. On most Sail Camps, your yacht will be sailing as part of a flotilla to give you the best of both worlds – the tightly knit friendship with your fellow crewmates AND the fun of activities and get-together with a larger group.
While all of our Sail Camps are open to all levels of sailing experience, our 7-day Pioneer Sail Camps are the perfect choice for those with no or little previous experience.
The sheltered waters of the Solent are the perfect environment to learn how to sail, and yet it offers a multitude of amazing places to explore.
Under the guidance of our professional crew, you will learn and improve the skills you need to sail a yacht, explore the marine environment surrounding you and gain confidence as you are challenging yourself on a new adventure.
Moreover, our Pioneer Sail Camps not only count towards the Residential section of your Gold DofE programme, but you can also achieve your RYA Start Yachting certificate whilst on board.
