Join Pod Volunteer to assist at a wildlife sanctuary which provides a safe haven for rescued animals, including sloths, monkeys, birds and anteaters.
How can I help?
The Wildlife Rescue team in Costa Rica help to rescue, rehabilitate and release Costa Rica’s diverse beautiful rainforest animals that have been injured, orphaned or mistreated. Newly rescued animals are treated in the on-site clinic, and then quickly returned to the wild once they are healthy again. For those animals which are too badly injured or not able to be released for other reasons, they are provided with a home at the sanctuary.
Each day will differ, and as a volunteer, your core role will focus on assisting the team in the sanctuary. Tasks include: preparing food and water; feeding the animals; assisting with cleaning the enclosures; creating enrichments for the animals and maintenance work around the sanctuary
When can I join?
Start dates are available throughout the year for placements of 1-4 weeks
Where will I be living?
Volunteers live on site and there are two accommodation options; the volunteer house and private cottages. The project is located in the heart of the tropical forest in the region of Quepos, close to the popular destination of Manual Antonio National Park.
Volunteer placements start from £745 for 1 week. This includes your accommodation, all main meals, induction and training.
