The Air League Gliding Bursaries provide recipients with £500 to spend on gliding training and courses at a gliding club of the recipient’s choice. The training and courses will allow you to achieve you Skills section of the DofE Award.
The application process consists of a written application, which is assessed by the Air League Scholarship Selection Committee.
Applications open on Monday, 27th January 2025. Applications close at 11:59pm on Sunday, 30th March 2025. Recipients will be notified of the outcome in the first week of June 2025.
To be eligible you must be:
-At least 14 years of age by the 1st of June 2024. There is no upper age limit.
-An Air League Member, which costs £30 per year.
-A UK citizen or permanent resident.
-A current member of your chosen gliding club.
Note: These bursaries are designed for people beginning their flying training. Therefore, you won’t be considered if you already hold a LAPL, NPPL, PPL, MPL, CPL or ATPL.
