The National Trust – Emmetts Garden

Emmetts is a lovely Victorian garden laid out in the 19th Century by Frederic Lubbock and with the help of friend and fellow gardener William Robinson. As you stroll through the site you will find a lovely rock garden built in 1910 which is home to lots of beautiful and intricate specimens, there is a small pond at the heart of the rock garden and path networks are flanked by Acer.

Emmetts is home to a rose garden that features a fantastic array of old English Roses, presented in delicate shades of pink and white. Down in the South garden at Emmetts you will find a truly unique collection of trees and shrubs that were collecting on plant hunters trips to China, the majority of the specimens in this area were from the Veitch’s collection bought at auction in 1914 and planted here, some wonderful and exotic plants to behold.
