The Reading Hack – volunteering

The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children aged 4 to 11 to read six books during the long summer holiday. There are loads of different ways to help with the Challenge. Some of the things volunteers help with include:

Helping staff to run the Challenge Talking to children about the books they've been reading Helping children to choose new books Helping with summer activities like craft sessions Helping to create displays in libraries

Volunteer activities happen in the libraries all over the country during the summer and then can continue on throughout the year. To get involved contact your local library or speak to Nici West at the Reading Agency 020 7324 2551 [email protected] or www.readingagency.org.uk
