Born on 22 March 1948, Sir Andrew first played violin and piano at the age of three, before taking up the french horn and starting to write his own music at the age of six.
His stage musical credits include the amazing titles: Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Cats, School of Rock and many more.
In this 12 week course, you will learn the background story of some of Sir Andrew’s best known musicals. Find out the original material, first performances and which careers the musicals helped!Along with learning about Sir Andrew’s musicals, you will also learn about theatre appreciation as a skill. This will help you to enjoy ANY theatre show you see, not just Sir Andrew’s!
At the end of the course, you will receive your U:Bee Completion Certificate and Assessor’s Report. This course is ideal for anyone with an interest in theatre, musicals or performing arts.
HOW DOES THIS COURSE HELP ANYONE WORKING TO ACHIEVE THEIR BRONZE OR SILVER DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S AWARD?

This means the courses we offer fulfil all the requirements of the skills section at Bronze Level and can satisfy the requirements of the Silver Level when chosen as a 12 week course or by the addition of a follow-on course. HOW IS THE COURSE DELIVERED?
The course material is delivered over a 12 week period into your online U:Bee Learners Dashboard. The course material is informative and encourages you to do your own personal research and practice. You will also be encouraged to listen to the U:Bee #BeTheBestYouCanBe Podcast and read the U:Bee online magazine, BUZZ.
WILL I RECEIVE THE INFORMATION I NEED FOR MY E-DofE?
Yes! When you enrol for the course you will be provided with all the information you need to complete your eDofE/ On completion you will be given an assessor’s report and a completion certificate.Remember – U:Bee Online is a licensed AAP, so the courses meet the high quality standards required by The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award BUT you should always check with your Leader or Teacher that they are happy with your choice.

WILL I NEED TO SPEND MORE MONEY TO FINISH THIS COURSE?
You can finish the course and not spend any extra money. We give you lots of ideas about places to find free information and resources.
DO I NEED PERMISSION TO START THIS COURSE?
If you are 16+years, No. If you are under 16, Yes. You must be 13+years to take part in U:Bee Courses. Your parent or responsible adult will have to tick to say the agree to you doing the course of you need the permission of an adult.
WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE COURSE?
We offer a 30 day refund period. However, this does mean we can’t give you any certificate or assessor’s report.
