Volunteering at Calke Abbey is a great way to complete your DofE volunteering section!
Calke Abbey is a hidden house, preserved as a survivor from a vanished era, with little having changed within it since the 1880s. It is “quirky, fusty, distressed”; “a place poised somewhere between gentle neglect and downright dereliction.”
The National Trust is Europe’s largest conservation charity. We help everyone across England, Wales and Northern Ireland enjoy all sorts of very special places for ever, for everyone. Become part of our fascinating story – volunteer.
Volunteering opportunities include: helping visitors get to know our unusual story as a Room Guide, welcoming visitors as a meeter-greeter, helping out in the restaurant and shop, and delivering pop-up garden tours for visitors.
