WOMAD (World of Music Art & Dance) Festival is looking to recruit volunteers for our festival in Malmesbury, across the week of 24th – 28th July 2014. Our volunteers need to be 18 or over, and different to our other volunteers, for DofE participants our volunteering hours will be arranged to fit with the Residential requirements of the DofE across the 5 days.
In return, the festival will provide some basic training, a separate campsite away from the public with facilities (volunteers will have to bring their own tents & camping equipment), and a hot meal for every shift worked. The roles carried out by our stewards are many and varied, ranging from ticket & wristband checking, campsite support, providing information, safety advice and directions, watching out for hazards and reporting on incidents, and acting as crowd and fire stewards on the music venues. This is a very public facing, customer care role and will give any young person a great experience in team working, public engagement, event safety awareness and helping to put on a great show. For more information, email [email protected].
Please note, as detailed above, volunteering at a festival can only count for a Residential if a specific programme has been designed to meet the conditions of the DofE and has been approved in advance by your LO.
