Kinloch Hourn road closure
Due to a landslip near the Loch Quoich dam in November 2018 the road to Kinloch Hourn is expected to be closed until mid 2019.
Carnach Bridge
The Carnach bridge (NM 865 964) across the River Carnach north of Sourlies bothy has been removed because it is unsafe. There are plans to replace it, but no timescale yet.
In the absence of this bridge the crossing of the River Carnach is extremely dangerous and there have been drownings here in the past. Whilst the river may be forded occasionally during dry periods in the Spring and Summer, in the main it is impassible and necessary to go a long way up the river to find a safe crossing point.
