What is the DofE Card discount in each of the DofE Recommended Retailers of Expedition Kit?

How do I claim my discount in the DofE Recommended Retailers?

 

 

You will need to show your DofE Card or Digital DofE Card at the till at the DofE recommended retailers in order to claim your discount or input the online code at GOOutdoors.co.ukBlacks.co.ukMillets.co.ukUltimateoutdoors.com and Tiso.com

How do I get my Adult DofE Card?

All DofE Leaders, Managers, Assessors and volunteers should have a personalised DofE Card. They will be posted to the address you have registered on eDofE within one month of registration. If you have not received your DofE Card:

  • Please check that your address details and communications preferences are correct in eDofE.
  • If they are correct but you have not received your card, please email [email protected].
  • You can also download your personalised Digital DofE Card from eDofE. It can be added to your mobile wallet, printed out or displayed on email.
  • If you do not have an eDofE account, please email [email protected].
How do I get my participant DofE Card?

Once you’ve added your home address to your eDofE profile, you’ll be sent a Welcome Pack with lots of helpful information and it’ll include your personalised DofE Card.

If you’re in Northern Ireland, the secure estate, or have an overseas home address, your Leader will give you your Welcome Pack.

The cards will be mailed within a month of registration. If you have not received your DofE Card:

  • Please check that your address details are correct in eDofE.
  • If your details are correct but you have not received your card, please email [email protected] to request a new welcome pack which will include the DofE Card.
  • You can also download your personalised Digital DofE Card from eDofE or the DofE app. It can be added to your mobile wallet, printed out or displayed on email.
How do I get the Digital DofE Card and use it?

Option 1 (eDofE):

  • Login to eDofE.
  • Click the Digital DofE Card banner on the right-hand side of eDofE.
  • A pop-up box will appear – click ‘Yes Please’ so you can download your Digital DofE Card.
  • The Digital DofE Card will then be sent to the email address linked with your eDofE account.

Option 2 (DofE app – participants only)

  • Download the DofE app which is available free from the App Store and Google Play.
  • Login to the app with your eDofE details.
  • Download the Digital DofE Card from the ‘DofE Card’ section on the app.

How to use your Digital DofE Card:

You have three options to use the Digital DofE Card. You can either

  1. Print the email you received.
  2. Display the email in-store.
  3. Add the Digital DofE Card to your mobile wallet.

What if my names misspelt on my DofE Card?

We’re unable to send you a new DofE Card with the correct spelling, as the cards are automatically printed once the information is entered on an eDofE account.

However, the DofE Card with the incorrect spelling is still able to be used in-store and online at our recommended retailers.

Alternatively, you can download the Digital DofE Card from eDofE or the DofE app (participants only for the app). It can be added to a mobile wallet, printed out or displayed on email.

Does the discount apply to purchases in-store and online?

Yes, the discount applies to all purchases made in the stores and websites of GO Outdoors, Blacks, Millets, Ultimate Outdoors and Tiso.

The discount will be applied to all eligible items when you reach the checkout in the store or on a website.

Does the discount only apply to DofE Recommended Kit items from the DofE Kit List?

No, the discount applies to all purchases across all stores and websites (some exemptions apply). For full details visit DofE.org/shopping/T&Cs.

All stores offer a wide range of products, so you can make great savings all year round. GO Outdoors also sell sports clothing and equipment that is suitable for the Physical and Skills sections of participants’ DofE programmes.

Does the discount apply to sale items and special offers?

Yes and no! Your DofE Card and Digital DofE Card is valid across all these retailers however, the terms and conditions depend on the store.

(Discounts below are based on the Adult DofE Card)

GO Outdoors

The 15% off* GO Outdoors for DofE Leaders and volunteers is taken off the Discount Card price, not the retail price. For example, if the retail price is £100, and the GO Outdoors Discount Card price is £90 (10% off) you will only pay £76.50 as your DofE Card gives you an extra 15% off. Just show your DofE Card at the checkout or input the online code and they will apply the total discount*. The GO Outdoors Discount Card normally costs £5 per year but having a DofE Card means you do not need to buy one. However, sale, WOW and other deals are exempt.

Blacks, Millets and Ultimate Outdoors

The 15% discount* at Blacks, Millets and Ultimate Outdoors does include reduced price items. So, when in-store use your card, or on their website enter the online code, for a further 15% off the current price and that is the price you will pay.

Tiso

The 20% discount* at Tiso does not include reduced price or sale items. If you are buying a mixture of sale and non-sale items, the DofE discount will be applied to all eligible items.

Does the discount apply to the retail price or Discount Card price in GO Outdoors?

The DofE discount for participants is an extra 10% off the Discount Card price at GO Outdoors. So, for a participant, if the GO Outdoors Discount Card gives 10% off a £100 purchase, you pay £90. However, with the DofE Card you get an extra 10% off the discount price, so 10% off £90 means you’ll pay just £81.

Just show your DofE Card or Digital DofE Card at the checkout and they will apply the total discount.

Do I have to purchase the GO Outdoors Discount Card to get the discount off the Discount Card price?

No, you do not have to purchase the GO Outdoors Discount Card to get the discount off the Discount Card price.

The GO Outdoors Discount Card normally costs £5, which then entitles you to purchase goods at their Discount Card price. GO Outdoors are waiving the card fee for all DofE participants and DofE Adults.

All DofE Cards used in GO Outdoors will need to be activated, as the first purchase in store for each card is unique. The card will be scanned, and you will be asked for your name and email address. You can still use your card if you do not wish to give your personal contact details.

What if I’ve been charged for the £5 GO Outdoors Discount Card?

You should not have to purchase the GO Outdoors Discount Card in order to use the DofE Card. Please email [email protected] with a picture of your receipt and we’ll be able to assist you.

Can I still claim a discount at Cotswold Outdoor with the DofE Card?

No, since 1 April 2018 Cotswold Outdoor is no longer the DofE Recommended Retailer of Expedition Kit and the DofE Card is not valid at Cotswold Outdoor.

Does the discount apply to large group/school orders?

The discounts apply to all purchases, whether personal or group, through all stores and websites. However, each retailer also has a group orders team who can offer quotes for larger orders which may exceed the standard DofE discount.

Am I able to take my DofE group to all stores to have kit talks and DofE group meetings?

All stores aim to offer the best advice and support possible to DofE groups and participants. Due to the wide range of store sizes and formats, the services available in-store do vary. However, most stores offer expedition kit talks either in-store or at your group location.

What can I do if I forgot my DofE Card in store?

You can download the Digital DofE Card from eDofE or the DofE app (participants only for the app) and display it on your mobile device.

Can I lend my DofE Card to my family and friends?

The DofE Card is available to everyone who is involved with the DofE and their family. However, the DofE Card and Digital DofE Card should not be passed onto friends.

Parents and family can use either the physical DofE Card or download the Digital DofE Card to their mobile wallet, but they will not be sent their own card.

Your family can make savings on all eligible purchases across all the stores and websites – not just clothing and kit for a DofE expedition.

Do I need to go into store with my family for them to use my DofE Card?

As many parents and carers need to purchase kit and other items for their sons and daughters, all our DofE recommended retailers will accept them without the participant being in store.

Can I use my DofE Card if I’m no longer doing my DofE?

Yes, alumni can still use the DofE Card and Digital DofE Card.

What if I find a lost DofE Card?

Please return the card FAO The Commercial Team at The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Gulliver House, Madeira Walk, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 1EU.

When does the DofE discount with GO Outdoors, Blacks, Millets, Ultimate Outdoors and Tiso expire?

The DofE Card and Digital DofE Card for DofE Adults and DofE participants expires 31 December 2021.
