Why do you work with the DofE?

Craghoppers are proud to be working alongside the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in encouraging young adults to enjoy the outdoors. We believe that the outdoors is for everyone to explore and enjoy.

Alongside conservationist charities and charities such as Walking with the Wounded, we are also committed to making the outdoors accessible to all working alongside Ordnance Survey and #WeTwo which is a foundation to empower underprivileged young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

As well as partnerships and collaborations, Craghoppers also endeavors to always take responsibility and operate sustainably, ethically, and with respect for the impact that we have for the environment and the people that make Craghoppers. We are part of the Ethical Trading Standard which involves making sure that our key workers and suppliers have a safe and happy work environment. The working conditions of our suppliers are a priority for us, and we have strict standards which must be met surrounding the treatment of workers, working hours, remuneration, health and safety, housing and accommodation, and freedom of association (with trade unions or representative committees) before we’ll start working with a new supplier.

What do you think the DofE gives to or does for young people?

The Duke of Edinburgh gives the tools and exposure to push young adults, not just to enjoy the outdoors but to develop essential skills, meet new people and broaden their horizons.

How are you working towards being more sustainable?

We are doing what we can, where we can, to look after our planet. By the end of 2021, we will have recycled over 50,000,000 plastic bottles and consequently prevented them from polluting our oceans. From Autumn 2021, 70% of our products will be made from recycled materials. Craghoppers are taking a huge sustainable step forward without compromising on the technical details.
