The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award announces Diamonds are Forever Charity Fundraising Gala

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) today announces details of its upcoming Diamonds are Forever Charity Gala, a fundraising event that will celebrate the DofE’s Diamond Anniversary. All proceeds from the evening will go towards helping the Charity realise its UK 2020 Diamond Ambition of transforming the lives of two million more young people, working specifically to ensure 400,000 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are given the opportunity to participate.

James Bond Producers, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have lent their support to the DofE Charity for the ‘Diamonds are Forever’ fundraising gala to be held at Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire on 9th June 2016.

Personally championed by HRH The Countess of Wessex, the event is being produced by the DofE Women in Business Committee, of which she is chair, a group set up by Her Royal Highness in 2003 to help the DofE with its fundraising and development.
Through its support of the DofE, the DofE Women in Business Committee is dedicated to aiding the Charity in equipping young people with the self-belief and work-ready skills they need to succeed.

The event is generously being sponsored by FedEx Express who are keen supporters of projects working with young people across the UK.

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, TRH The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Michael G Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and members of the DofE Women in Business Committee will be in attendance on the night hosted by David Walliams, along with past and present James Bond cast and crew including, Sir Roger Moore, Dame Judi Dench and Naomie Harris.

DofE supporter David Walliams will present the evening. British film composer David Arnold, who has scored five James Bond films and was the Music Director for the London 2012 Olympics, is supporting the DofE Women in Business Committee in producing the entertainment programme for the event.

Stoke Park was chosen as the location having featured in the films Goldfinger and Tomorrow Never Dies.

The Earl of Wessex is a Trustee of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award UK. The Countess of Wessex is Chair of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Women in Business Committee.
