#DofEDifference winner

Congratulations to our #DofEDifference competition winner

DofE Leaders are the best. They volunteer their time to support thousands of young people through their DofE each year because they want them to succeed in life, gain the skills they need to get ahead and develop into rounded, confident characters, ready to take on the world. Put simply, without our volunteers, there would be no DofE.

We wanted to highlight the work of these individuals, and the crucial role they play in making a difference to the lives of so many young people.

So, what did we do? We put a call out for participants to tell us about an amazing DofE volunteer at their school or centre who always goes above and beyond, via a video on social media.

We were blown away by all of the entries, but there could only be one winner (judged by the number of likes their video received). And our winning entry came from Greenhead College in Huddersfield – congratulations!

Participants at Greenhead College told us about Barbara, who has been running the DofE at the school for almost 30 years. During that time, she’s worked with thousands of students – we can only imagine how much of a difference she’s made, to both the college and the young people she’s given up her time for.

We’d like to say a special thank you to Barbara for her work with the DofE and young people and hope that Greenhead College enjoys its prize – £1,000 worth of camping equipment, courtesy of Vango.
