If you are planning on visiting Wales to complete your DofE expedition, you might find the information below useful.

New for the 2018 season:

Supervisors and Leaders must submit notifications by email (hard copies no longer accepted) at least four weeks prior to the expedition date to [email protected]rg

You will also need to send a map of the route, either as a scanned pdf or as an online mapping attachment, we only require route cards for expeditions being assessed by the network.

The Wales Expedition Network now has a direct telephone line: 01874 615383.

ACCESS ISSUES FOR GROUPS VISITING SNOWDONIA:

Last November, 2 x bridges were washed away in the Nant Peris (Gwynedd) area. Many DofE Gold teams seem to use the lower Public Right of Way from Nant Peris to Llanberis and currently, there is no bridge at SH 603 591.  Cyngor Gwynedd Council have ‘closed’ the path although no replacement work is being carried out currently.  ‘Footpath Closed’ signs are in place at SH 604 590 and the river itself. For official guidance – and to help with route planning for DofE teams – contact:

Wyn William (Countryside Manager at Gwynedd Council)

Rhaid i Oruchwylwyr ac Arweinwyr gyflwyno hysbysiadau drwy e-bost (ni dderbynnir copïau papur) o leiaf bedair wythnos cyn dyddiad yr alldaith at [email protected]

Bydd angen i chi hefyd yrru map o’r llwybr, un ai fel PDF wed’i sganio neu fel atodiad mapio ar-lein. Rydym ond angen cardiau llwybr ar gyfer alldeithiau a asesir gan y rhwydwaith.
