Anna Hopton

In school a common reason why people tell you to do the Duke of Edinburgh Award is because it looks good on your CV, but it is so much more than that. It has just turned 3 years since I went to St James’ Palace to get my award. Listening to everyone’s stories makes you realise that nobody’s experience is the same. One of the biggest similarities is despite how challenging it was both mentally and physically, everyone still enjoyed it. I genuinely still look back on my experience so fondly, I created amazing memories with some of the best people. It allowed me to develop long lasting resilience and to have confidence in my own abilities. I am so grateful that I decided to participate in such an unforgettable opportunity.
