I started doing my Bronze Award last year and completed my 3 elements but was unable to do the expedition due to Covid19 and lockdown.
However, I started my Silver Award this year having almost completed my 3 elements and hope to complete both my Bronze and Silver hikes combined this year.
I have enjoyed what I have started so far and look forward to doing the hikes this summer. It probably won't be like previous expeditions due to the pandemic but I think what Prince Philip started many years ago with the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme is fantastic.
It is so important for young people to learn new skills, gain confidence and learn leadership skills, so the DofE scheme is brilliant.
