Field Studies Council – Conservation and Zoo Keeping – Suffolk – August 2025

This course is for young people aged between 16 and 18 years old who are interested in learning more about zoology and conservation.

Interested in a career involving conservation and zoo-keeping? This five-day course offers a unique look at conservation efforts and animal care. Delivered in collaboration with Colchester Zoological Society at Flatford Mill in Suffolk.

Participants will start the week exploring a range of habitats at nearby nature reserves. They’ll also enjoy getting hands-on with vital conservation work.

The second half of the course offers rare behind-the-scenes visits to the zoo itself. There will be expert-led workshops on animal training, handling and zoo management as well as conservation.
