Our 5-day residential is open to all young people and is compatible with the Duke of Edinburgh’s GOLD Residential Award section.
The Gold residential will focus on survival/ bushcraft techniques, Leave No Trace awareness and team building. Three nights will be spent staying at Ardaluin house with the last night being spent camping in Ardaluin forest under tarp shelters.
The final night will be designed to incorporate the techniques taught in the prior days including making fire, campfire cooking, how to put up tarp shelters out of the wind, knife skills and safety and preparing fire wood.
As well as these hard skills being taught, the week will also be filled with games, outdoor activities (tree climbing, archery, orienteering) . At the end participants will receive a ‘Leave No Trace awareness’ certificate.
On the final day, groups will be treated to a trip off site.
