Pod Volunteer – Marine Conservation in South Africa – Gold Residential

Join Pod Volunteer to contribute to turtle, shark and potato bass research at world famous dive sites in Sodwana Bay

How can I help?

You will be joining a local team and participating in research dives which aim to provide regular data input to monitor the marine life of Sodwana Bay. This research is used to protect and preserve the local ecosystem as well as contributing to global studies on migratory patterns of megafauna (large marine life).

You will achieve this by assisting with several research projects while diving – these may include participating in reef surveys, monitoring of turtle, shark, potato bass and whales, uploading photographs of individual sightings and contributing to Citizen Science ID databases

Where will I be living?

You will be living in basic cabins, either on your own or shared with another volunteer, within an enclosed camp in Sodwana Bay. The main house has an indoor lounge area with a TV and an outdoor relaxation area. There are large gardens and a swimming pool on site for volunteers to relax in during their free time.
