Gliding scholarships provide individuals with an opportunity to enter the sport of gliding and learn the fundamental skills required to transition to powered flying. All scholarship applications are made on our website and are reviewed by our Scholarship Selection Committee. Gliding scholarship application open on 29 January and close on 07 April 2024. Our gliding scholarships will be awarded in June 2024.

The course will run from July to December 2024

Successful applicants may conduct their scholarship at any UK Gliding Club who is a member of the British Gliding Association. The scholarships offered are:

PILOT DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship provides additional support towards going solo, aerobatic, or cross-country training, in the form of a bursary.

SELF LAUNCHED MOTOR GLIDER (SLMG) CONVERSION SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship provides an individual who has previous gliding experience support to convert to powered flying, in the form of a bursary.
