The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children aged 4-11 to read for fun, and happens in libraries across the UK during the summer holidays.
Many libraries are supported by volunteers. You can get involved with things like:
– Helping to run activities for children and families
– Handing out prizes
– Talking to children about the books they’ve read
This year’s Challenge, ‘Marvellous Makers’, is all about creativity, encouraging children to express themselves through the arts. From drawing to dance, music to junk modelling, there’s something for everyone!
Contact your local library today to ask about opportunities for this year’s challenge.
Please note that opportunities and dates vary between libraries.
