Help to care for rescued dogs and cats in two shelters in the city of Barcelona. The cat shelter is located in the heart of the old city, and provides a home to stray cats. The dog and cat shelter is situated on the hill overlooking the city, with wonderful views.
What’s it all about?
Volunteers help to take care of the animals at the shelters. Typical jobs can involve:
– feeding the animals
– playing with the animals
– cleaning enclosures
– walking the dogs
– helping with health care, where possible
You can take part here throughout the year for 1 – 12 weeks.
Accommodation and Food
Volunteers stay in an eco-hostel outside of the centre of Barcelona. Rooms and bathrooms are shared with other volunteers. The hostel has wifi, a garden and an indoor swimming pool.
Three meals are provided each day. Breakfast includes fruit, cereal and toast. Lunch and dinner can involve fish, meat, vegetables, pasta, rice, stir fry, salads etc.
In your free time you can enjoy taking an alternative tour of the city, practicing your Spanish, trying new foods and exploring the city. Don’t forget the beach too!
How much does it cost?
1 week costs £989 and each additional week costs £279.
Volunteers must be 18+ to participate. The summer is very popular, so you are encouraged to book early to guarantee your space.
