Set sail on a unique adventure and earn your Gold Residential Award aboard a sailing yacht!
No previous sailing experience is necessary; our friendly and experienced instructor will show you the ropes and help you to develop both teamwork and sailing skills. During the trip you will visit a variety of different locations/ports.
You will be involved in all aspects of running the boat. Above decks; raising/lowering sails, steering and learning how to read thew wind. While below decks you will work in synergy to keep each other fuelled, navigate and learn to live in a seamanlike fashion alongside your fellow crew mates.
Not only will you fulfil your DofE requirements, but you’ll also create lasting memories with a team of like-minded explorers. In addition, you will complete the RYA Competent Crew course – a gateway qualification into the sport of sailing.
If you have already done some sailing and have taken the RYA Day Skipper shore-based navigation course, then you may be able to do the RYA Day Skipper course.
Whether you’re a novice or experienced sailor, this adventure is the perfect way to achieve your D of E Gold Award.
Cost includes accommodation, all food, sailing instruction, Oilskins (Wet weather gear) if needed, mooring fees, fuel and gas. The cost does not include personal insurance.
