Canoes are an amazing way to travel: exploring rivers, lochs, coastlines, and islands. Why not try a canoe expedition for your Gold? If you want to do our practice, no prior experience is necessary; we shall provide lots of training and coaching.

The practice expedition will take place on Loch Tay and the River Tay in Perthshire, in Scotland. We will start at the western end of this big loch, near the town of Killin. Day one will involve lots of skills training in the river and loch, including:

What to wear
Safety and Rescue
Getting on the water
Steering
Stopping the canoes
Weather, planning, and navigation

On days 2, 3, and 4 we’ll go on a journey, east along the length of the loch and the river Tay, practicing skills and developing your independence as a paddling team.
