Field Studies Council – Conservation and Zookeeping – Dale Fort, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire SA62 3RD

This course is for young people aged between 16 and 17 years old who are interested in learning more about zoology and conservation.

As part of the course, participants will visit Dr Beynon’s Bug Farm, Manor Wildlife Park, and Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo.

Participants will start the week exploring a range of habitats at nearby nature reserves. They’ll also enjoy getting hands-on with vital conservation work.

The second half of the course offers rare behind-the-scenes visits to the zoo itself. There will be expert-led workshops on animal training, handling and zoo management as well as conservation.

This course is suitable for the residential section of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. Always check with your leader before booking.
