Participants will take part in a fully supported rowing expedition, joining a small crew to travel along one of three UK routes: the Isle of Mull, the Caledonian Canal, or the Isle of Wight. Each offers a different environment, from open coastal waters to sheltered inland waterways, but all require teamwork, commitment, and adaptability.
Crew members will be actively involved in all aspects of the expedition, including rowing in timed shifts, learning basic navigation and passage awareness, and supporting the day-to-day running of the boat. Participants will gain hands-on experience in safety procedures, equipment use, and working effectively as part of a team.
Depending on the route and conditions, nights may be spent onboard or ashore, with opportunities for simple wild camping or staying in local harbours and anchorages. This adds an element of self-sufficiency and expedition living.
No previous rowing experience is required. Training and guidance are provided throughout, with a focus on building confidence, resilience and practical skills.
The expedition offers a rewarding environment to develop independence, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of working on the water. Cost varies from £1400-£2700
