Bike Hike & Paddle – Gold Training & Practice Lake District – Keswick

An Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions. Creating unforgettable outdoor adventures for a truly inclusive journey. Working with schools, groups and individuals.

An open Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award walking expedition with ‘Bike Hike & Paddle’ offers a dynamic and enriching experience designed to challenge, educate, and inspire young adventurers.

The expedition kicks off with an orientation session where participants meet their leaders and fellow team members. They engage in team-building exercises designed to foster camaraderie and effective communication. This is crucial, as teamwork will be vital during the expedition.

Before commencing their expedition, participants undergo an essential preparation phase. This includes gear checklists, route planning, understanding expedition team goal, and a detailed safety briefing. ‘Bike Hike & Paddle’ ensures that every participant is equipped with the necessary skills and confidence to embark on their journey.

The DofE expedition takes place amidst beautiful and challenging terrains, often in national parks or areas of outstanding natural beauty.

Participants are responsible for navigating through these landscapes using maps and compasses, setting up the tents at camp, promoting self-reliance and critical thinking. The journey can span diverse environments such as forests, hills, and valleys, offering breath taking views and a deep connection with nature.

We provide Tents, Stoves, Fuel, Emergency Equipment, Map & Compass as standard for all of our expeditions
