Learn life-saving skills from humanitarian experts at UWC Atlantic. Build confidence, earn a first aid qualification, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Our six-night residential course teaches you real, practical lifesaving skills. The kind that can make the difference between life and death, wherever you are in the world.

Each day combines interactive first aid workshops and outdoor practical sessions, building your skills and knowledge progressively throughout the week. You will learn CPR, bleeding control, choking response and take part in simulated rescue scenarios on land and in the pool, all delivered by experienced humanitarian and medical professionals, including doctors, medics and emergency responders.

By the end of the course you will hold an advanced first aid qualification, recognised as HSE First Aid at Work certification and valid for three years. These are skills you can use everywhere: at work, volunteering, or in everyday life.

Alongside your training, you will hear real-world insights from experts who have worked everywhere from NHS A&E departments to remote rescue operations across the globe, giving you a genuine window into careers in medicine, emergency response and humanitarian work.

The course is based at the beautiful castle grounds of UWC Atlantic, St Donat’s Castle, South Wales. Evenings are free to relax, explore and build friendships with like-minded people.
