The programme begins with a live online introductory course, preparing participants with the knowledge and skills they need before setting out and giving participants the chance to ask questions. The live meeting will also give participants the chance to meet the team for the first time.
Training day: Day one of the practice sessions – an opportunity to learn or refresh essential skills and complete a navigation exercise, while also giving participants the opportunity to get to know their team face to face.
Practice Expedition: 26 May – 29 May 2026 (Snowdonia) Focused on developing skills for safe and independent hiking in the UK’s mountain ranges. The week combines training activities with remote supervision as participants progress to hiking independently, using a mixture of campsites and wild camping locations.
Qualifying Expedition: 20-24 July 2026 (Lake district) Participants complete a four-day, three-night assessed journey. Participants demonstrate their independence, teamwork, and resilience while being remotely supervised by our experienced assessors, meeting all DofE requirements and creating unforgettable memories. choose either:
