Walton Firs Activity Centre – Volunteering Residential – Cobham

This course will give participants the opportunity to give back to the community and the young people that use it, through volunteering on site maintenance projects, or our holiday club.

During this week long course participants will be put together in multiple groups to work together and learn many important life skills. These include budgeting and food shopping for the group, meeting new people and developing social skills during evening activities.

Participants will be given the opportunity to learn about the safe use and maintenance of tools, PPE and equipment that can be used in the maintenance and development of the site. The skills will then be developed as they work towards and site project that will leave a legacy on the site. For example building our conservation area (pathways/fences/bug hotels) or improving general site services (signs/fences/gardening).

There is also an opportunity to develop skills working with young people, by supporting our Holiday Camp

During the week, the volunteering participants will also engage in some activities on the site, alongside our Adventurous Activity Residential, which will help to develop team working skills, communication and confidence.

Accommodation and all meals included.
