The learning outcomes include time management, forward planning for gathering ingredients and allowing sufficient preparation time. Each lesson takes in excess of one hour to complete and is accompanied by a short demonstration video and recipe card.
Extra practice sessions are obtained from the ‘how to’ videos along the way. The skills covered include pastry making, chopping and slicing for stir fry, creaming fat and sugar for baking and cookies. Tomato jam, curry sauce, pasta bake, scones, cakes and flavoured shortbread.
The follow on Modules include bread making, risotto, pies, pastry making, curry, dips, working with chocolate, crumble and cakes.
Many different methods and techniques are covered including chopping and slicing, kneading, mashing potatoes, using a blender, melting chocolate and rubbing in fat and flour for crumble.
Vegetarian and Vegan options are available – and also the opportunity to ‘fly solo’ if you want to try something out to show us! Just ask.
