With support from long-standing DofE supporter The Gerald Leigh Trust, The BRS is offering free Residential courses, taking place during July, August and September, for young people who meet the Resilience Fund criteria and who are doing their Gold DofE.
Situated on the outskirts of Newmarket, Suffolk, the home of British horse racing, The British Racing School’s state-of-the-art training centre offers brilliant facilities and hands-on learning experiences for young people with a passion or interest in working in the horseracing industry.
Young people do not need to be able to ride or have experience with horses to join the course, which is aimed specifically at those who might struggle to afford a Residential as part of their DofE Gold Award. There are huge mental health benefits to working outdoors, and to working with horses.
There are also many opportunities in racing for long-term careers, in the UK and internationally. There are free places available on the following Residentials, funded by the Gerald Leigh Trust:
22-26 July – 10 free places
10-14 August – 5 free places
14-18 September – 5 free places
