Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary UK – A rhino journey of a lifetime – Nelspruit South Africa

Volunteers support orphaned rhino care, rehabilitation, release monitoring, assist wildlife management and data collection, attend conservation lectures, join bush activities and contribute to community upliftment within a dedicated wildlife programme..

You will accompany staff on monitoring drives to observe released rhinos, assist with supplementary feeding, photograph body condition and record behavioural data. Volunteers also help track calves born within the protected area and support the rehabilitation of other African wildlife species. Data collection on game drives contributes directly to effective reserve management.

The programme includes educational lectures led by experienced conservation staff, providing insight into rhino ecology, wildlife management and broader conservation challenges. Depending on your stay, you may also join bush walks, night drives, braais, and stargazing evenings.

This is a demanding, hands-on experience requiring commitment and resilience. In return, you will contribute meaningfully to wildlife conservation and community upliftment — leaving knowing you have helped secure a future for both wildlife and people
