Gain your Duke of Edinburgh Skills Award with QWERTY Type’s Flexi Plus course — designed for students who need flexibility without sacrificing expert support.

Unlike most touch typing courses, our tutors are fully qualified, experienced teachers — not just fast typists. Your course begins with a one-to-one introductory session via Zoom, after which you complete one hour of typing practice per week in your own time, from wherever you are — home, boarding school, college, university or overseas.

Each week you’ll receive a personalised typing plan, set tasks to complete and share your results and a short video clip of your technique. Clare or Philippa will respond by email with observations, advice on finger positioning and guidance on increasing your speed — just like having a teacher in the room.

Your course includes our colour-coded QWERTY Type keyboard, a six-month online typing programme, a 12-week individualised home learning plan, and your DofE Assessor’s Report — everything you need from day one.

After just 13 weeks, expect to achieve your Certificate of Touch Typing with at least 90% accuracy and 30+ words per minute. Many of our students reach 50wpm and beyond.
