The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust – NHS Summer Volunteering Programme – 50 Hours – Shrewsbury

Spend your summer making a difference in our hospitals, gaining valuable experience and new skills while choosing from a range of volunteering roles supporting patients, visitors and staff.

Looking for a meaningful way to spend your summer while gaining valuable experience and making a difference?

Our Summer Volunteering Programme gives young people the opportunity to complete 50 hours of volunteering across Royal Shrewsbury Hospital or Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.

You can choose from a range of volunteering opportunities, depending on your interests and availability. Roles may include:

Meet & Greet – welcome patients and visitors, provide directions and information, help people find their appointments and be a friendly, reassuring face around the hospital.

Admin Support – work behind the scenes supporting medical secretaries and hospital teams with everyday tasks that help services run smoothly.

Ward Support – provide practical support to ward teams, helping with appropriate non-clinical tasks and making a positive difference to patients and staff.

Companion Volunteer – spend time with patients who may appreciate some company, conversation and a friendly face during their hospital stay.

Whatever role you choose, you’ll gain insight into the NHS, develop valuable communication and teamwork skills, build confidence and make a genuine difference to patients, visitors and staff.

A fantastic opportunity to make your summer count!
