Adventure & Archaeology Residential
3rd–7th August 2026
Join us for an unforgettable week of adventure and archaeology in the beautiful Surrey countryside, with the opportunity to complete your Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Residential.
Step back in time as you take part in a truly ground-breaking archaeological excavation in our nature reserve. Working alongside the Surrey Archaeological Society, you’ll uncover and investigate evidence from the past, including traces of an ancient road network dating back to Roman times. Experience the excitement of a genuine archaeological dig while learning professional excavation techniques and discovering more about Surrey’s fascinating heritage.
Throughout the week, you’ll also take part in a range of hands-on archaeological workshops. Build a traditional clamp kiln (ground oven), create your own clay pot, and fire it using traditional methods.
The adventure doesn’t stop there! Alongside your archaeological discoveries, you’ll enjoy an exciting programme of outdoor activities, including:
- High ropes
- Climbing
-
Axe throwing
-
Campfire cooking
Living and working together throughout the week, you’ll meet like-minded people, develop new skills, build confidence, and make lasting friendships.
The residential includes:
