Cambridgeshire DofE Open Award Centre – Bushcraft and Conservation Course – Cambridge

Come and join our course. Learn lots of BUSHCRAFT skills, cook fabulous food over a campfire and carry out conservation in the local environment.

Would you like to learn a selection of interesting bushcraft and survival activities?
Would you like to cook homemade food over open fires, carve cutlery, make a whistle?
Would you like to learn something about environmental conservation and regeneration?
These are just a selection of the activities which can be offered on this exciting and intensive course:

Fire lighting from natural materials
Knife work and sharpening
Himalayan Balsam removal (waders provided)
Cutlery carving
Tree clearance
Game preparation and cooking (trout, pigeon, crayfish, rabbit, deer)
Willow Osier maintenance
Camp cooking over open fires
Crayfish trapping (American crayfish, invasive species)
Leather work
String and cordage from natural materials
Willow weaving with fresh willow
Use of axe and saw to fell a tree
Water purifying using natural materials
Using a trail camera set to film wildlife
Walking stick making
Sleep in a hammock (optional)
