The sanctuary provides a safe haven for over 30 animals including sloths, monkeys, peccary pigs, a raccoon, coatis, kinkajous and exotic birds.
These animals have been badly injured, orphaned or are confiscated illegal pets, and they are unable to live in the wild. They are provided with a safe home at the sanctuary where you will join the team to help.
At the sanctuary you will assist in a variety of tasks helping the animals, including:
- Preparing food, water and medications
- Creating fun enrichments for the animals
- Cleaning and maintaining the enclosures
- Maintenance work and cleaning around the sanctuary
You will live on site with other volunteers from around the world and all meals are provided. There is a swimming pool where you can relax after a busy day!
The project is located in the heart of the tropical forest in the region of Quepos, close to the popular destination of Manual Antonio National Park.
