Complete your Gold DofE Residential at Calshot Activities Centre, situated between the New Forest National Park and the Solent. This five-day residential is designed for young people interested in watersports, leadership and outdoor careers.

Throughout the week, participants work towards achieving both the RYA Level 1 Sailing qualification and the RYA Powerboat Level 2 qualification, gaining practical skills, knowledge and nationally recognised awards. Expert instructors will introduce sailing, powerboat handling, navigation, safety and seamanship whilst helping participants develop confidence on the water.

Alongside training sessions, participants will explore the Solent coastline, learn about tides and marine navigation, take part in team challenges and gain insight into careers in watersports and outdoor education through discussions with experienced instructors and industry professionals.

No previous experience is required. Accommodation, meals, specialist equipment and instruction are all included. This residential offers an excellent introduction to watersports instruction whilst fulfilling the Residential section of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
