You will be part of the Pod Volunteer Under 18 team spending 1 week getting involved in Turtle and Marine conservation in Greece! You will be supported by team leaders who will be living with you on the beautiful island of Kefalonia. It’s open to all 16-17 year olds and is an ideal trip to complete your DofE Gold Residential.
July is turtle nesting season so each day will be different but you will help the local turtle conservation team with:
- Turtle nesting beach surveys and nest checks
- Harbour surveys monitoring adult turtles
- Snorkel surveys of seagrass meadows
- Coastal clean-ups
These activities will be accompanied a series of engaging educational presentations about turtles and marine conservation. Kefalonia is a beautiful island and it’s a really special place explore, with evenings in the busting town of Argostoli and trips to visit the famous caves.
You will stay in a lovely hillside resort with a swimming pool and fantastic sunset views over the sea.
Meals are included.
This is a very popular project so we would recommend booking early to secure your space.
