The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust – Hospital Meet and Greet Volunteer – Shrewsbury

Be the friendly face that welcomes patients and visitors, helps them find their way and makes their hospital experience less stressful, while supporting staff and making a real difference.

Could you be the friendly face that makes someone’s hospital visit a little easier?

Our Meet & Greet volunteers are based across both Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital along with our Community Diagnostic Centre, helping patients and visitors feel welcome, confident and supported from the moment they arrive.

You could be greeting patients and visitors, helping people find their way around the hospital, providing information or signposting them to the right service. You may also help patients check in for their clinic appointment or simply be there to offer a friendly face and a reassuring word.

For many people, coming to hospital can be stressful or overwhelming, particularly if they are unsure where to go or what to expect. A friendly welcome and a little reassurance can make a huge difference to someone’s experience and leave a lasting impression.

You’ll also be an excellent source of support for our staff, helping things run more smoothly and allowing them to focus on their clinical roles.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your communication, confidence and people skills while making a genuine difference to patients, visitors and staff every time you volunteer.
