Our Ward Volunteers engage with our patients by offering stimulating and fun activities that lift their moods, improve mobility and recovery.
Activities range from puzzles, quizzes, reading and conversational interactions to games, listening to music, chair-based exercises, colouring and other art.
We also use the Happiness programme and Rita system to help patients with cognitive impairments.
Ward Volunteers also provide companionship, learning vital communication skills and building empathy. They also help support staff with other ward tasks, such as serving hot meals and making hot drinks.
